A little bit about me…

I have over 20 years experience in the games industry as a tester, designer, creative director, project lead and more, for some of the biggest and tiniest game developers in the UK.

I got my start in late 1995 at Sony QA where I tested, reviewed and provided design feedback on hundreds of PlayStation 1 & 2 titles including Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy 7 and Wipeout.

My career as a junior designer started at legendary developer Argonaut Games, then onto Criterion and EA where I helped to create world-wide #1 games Black and Burnout Paradise. I headed back to Sony and joined the R&D group, developing game concepts for then prototype hardware the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation Move. A number of our concepts were developed, including hit horror game Until Dawn.

I became more attracted to the pace and form of mobile development, where access to data and a broader range of users really brought a new angle to games design for me. I co-founded a company to get a feel for this area and released some small but successful games. Around the same time I joined Mindshapes to help develop children’s educational apps. We launched Magic Town, which brought together some of the biggest brands from children’s literature into an interactive story-world. In the first year we served over a million stories to children all over the world.

As a design consultant I’m hired to share my experience and insights with in-house development teams. I enjoy taking on unusual and challenging projects. As a top performing designer I’m always given the most difficult problems to solve, and I always do my best to deliver quality work, collaborating with diverse teams in a fun a professional manner.
