Lead Designer working with IntenseLife, an innovative start-up based in Bucharest, building fitness games and apps.
I joined IntenseLife in its early start-up phase, initially focused on social fitness games, before the studio pivoted fully into health apps. I stayed on through this transition, helping evolve the product direction while continuing to build out meaningful, user-focused experiences.
Healary is a health app that replaces generic dieting with personalised, data-led insight - using bio-scanning to guide users toward sustainable weight loss. As Lead Designer at this ambitious start-up, I worked directly with the CEO and Studio Head to define the product vision, shaping core systems, user experience, and overall direction.
As Lead Designer, I bridged business goals and product execution, working closely with leadership to shape the product while remaining deeply hands-on across design. In a fast-moving start-up environment, I owned a broad range of responsibilities, translating complex requirements, user feedback, and analytics into clear, shippable experiences.
Led design across iOS, Android, web, and Apple Watch, ensuring a cohesive cross-platform experience
Owned end-to-end design process, from concept through wireframes to final UI and visual mock-ups (Illustrator & Photoshop)
Designed onboarding questionnaire with A/B tested flows, generating personalised diet, exercise, and meditation plans
Built account management and payment systems, optimised through user testing to maximise conversion
Designed daily routine and scheduling systems to drive engagement and long-term retention
Created “recipe book” feature with integrated meal planning and food database connectivity
Defined interaction model for AI health coach, integrating it across all core product systems
The LLM-powered Coach was a core feature of Healary that I helped design - an interactive guide that allowed users to engage with their health plan through natural conversation. Users could speak or type to the Coach about nutrition, fitness and mindfulness, receiving personalised responses and recommendations in real time.
The system was deeply integrated with the app, allowing the Coach to navigate across features, generate new workouts, meditations and recipes, and seamlessly update the user’s plan.
Collaborated on character design and voice to establish a clear, approachable personality
Designed four distinct “health zone” environments and a supporting 3D camera system
Designed the chat interface for both voice and text interaction
Created UI and UX flows connecting the Coach to core systems across the app
Helped define how conversational interaction translates into actionable features (e.g. generating workouts, recipes, plans)
Worked closely with engineering to ensure smooth integration between AI responses and app functionality
I led the design of the Apple Watch experience for Healary, translating the app’s core functionality into a streamlined, wearable-first interface focused on quick, intuitive interactions.
Working within Apple’s Human Interface Design guidelines, I adapted key features - including food tracking, activity, mindfulness and social elements - for a smaller form factor, ensuring clarity and ease of use.

In addition to my design leadership role, I led the product and UX design of the Healary website - recreating the app’s onboarding experience on web and guiding users from initial engagement through to subscription and app download. This involved designing a seamless funnel where users could complete the health questionnaire, sign up, subscribe, and transition smoothly into the mobile experience.
